The folks at Production Weekly inform us that Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (Little Miss Sunshine) will adapt Tom Perrotta's novel, The Abstinence Teacher.
If all goes as planned, and there is some chance for the project to be postponed for an indefinite period, the lead roles will be played by Sandra Bullock and Steve Carell.
The Blind Side actress will get inside a high school teacher which shocks the conservative local community with her libertine precepts of sexual life.
Carell will be cast as an ex-party man who was saved from a misery life by the evangelical community. It is clear that this character will have ideological and moral conflict with infamous sex education teacher, but a series of unforeseen incidents are forcing them to reinterpret the existential values of life.
