A scheduled auction of Michael Jackson collectibles and keepsakes next week was cancelled. The auction was originally set on April 22 to 25. Auctioneer Darren Julien said that the cancellation of the event was in line with Jackson’s lawsuit in March wherein he demanded the return of some memorabilia. The auctioneers, on the other hand, granted the singer's request and agreed to give back the items.
Julien said, "The auction isn't going to take place. We wanted to reach an agreement (with Jackson) and we have reached one today that is mutually acceptable and beneficial."
Tohme R. Tohme, Jackson's representative, released a joint statement with Julien that the two parties are happy with what they have agreed upon and that it gives authority to the King of Pop to retain ownership of his collections.
