The box-office success of 'Sex and The City' last year, grossing more than $415 million worldwide, made producers Michael Patrick King and Sarah Jessica Parker decide to create a sequel of the movie.
In Jennifer Hudson’s interview with Shaun Robinson of Access Hollywood, she expressed her interest in reprising her role as Louise, Carrie Bradshaw's assistant. "I would love [to play Louise again]. I told Michael Patrick King, I said that Louise has moved back to New York from St. Louis, so... I'll be ready if that opportunity comes," she said. It was remembered that Hudson’s role, Louise, left New York City in searching for her true love elsewhere.
Affirming the speculations, the producers revealed in February 2009 that there will be a sequel of the romantic comedy flick. It is set for release in the summer of 2010 and filming is expected to begin in the middle of this year.
