Christina Aguilera files for divorce

Wednesday, November 17 2010

Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman got married in 2005 after being together for three years. Now, the singer has filed for divorce and the reason is, like always: "irreconcilable differences" .

TMZ informs us that the in legal documents they have seen, the couple have signed a prenuptial agreement, which will determine who gets what in the divorce settlement.

The petition — which lists the date of separation as September 11 2010 – requests that, "Earnings and accumulations of Aguilera before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation be considered separate property."

Both Christina and Jordan are fighting for the custody of their two-year-old son Max, but the petition made by Laura Wessel, Aguilera's lawyer will block any attempt made by her husband to receive child support from her.

"Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever," she said.
