The Hollywood actor - says he's "thrilled" that his new film The Town has received rave reviews and topped to box office.
The film - which Affleck co-wrote and stars in - raked in $23.8 million on its opening weekend and is a strong contender for the Oscars next year.
"If it hadn't turned out well, I'd be lying to you and telling you this kind of thing didn't matter but it feels really nice - I've been around long enough and seen the highs and lows to really enjoy this... I'm honored and thrilled," he said.
Ben Affleck recently admitted he hated being fodder for tabloids during his romance with singer/actress Jennifer Lopez.
"That's about when I realized I didn't want to be the guy in the tabs," he said.
