Angelina Jolie Wants Kids to Visit Refugee Camps

Tuesday, June 23 2009

by Joe Halls

Angelina Jolie talked about the benefits of doing charity works in her interview with Ann Curry recently, and shared that her childhood would be different if she just knew the great things about helping people early on.

She said, "I think it would have got me through my youth easier. I would have been less self-destructive."

She also wanted her children to reap the benefits she's been getting from visiting refugee camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan. "I want them to see it as an area where they can go down the street and play football with those kids and get to know them and, as they grow up, see them as friends they spend time with."

"I hope if I raise them with a more accurate view of the world than I was raised with, then they will naturally be better people. And I'm sure my children will be visiting and learning from refugees in the future," added Jolie.
