Adam Lambert, 27-year-old actor from Los Angeles, got a standing ovation from American Idol judge Simon Cowell after his rendition of the song Mad World by Tears for Fears. Lambert has remained the front-runner of the singing competition.
Songs from the year the contestants were born was the theme for this week’s performances. While Lambert was receiving good reviews from his performances, Lil Rounds shed more disappointment as her rendition of What's Love Got To Do With It failed to make the judges approve of her singing for several weeks now, losing her momentum on the show.
Cowell commented, "You're not making the impact you should be making on the show…You've got to start becoming more original." Other contestants who stood out were Matt Giraud singing Part-Time Lover, and Danny Gokey’s Stand By Me.
