We were all surprised to hear Ricky Martin's announce. He simply said he was gay. We know the information is not the surprising news. The way Ricky did it was surprising.
As we all know, the Latin handsome singer always assumed his sexuality, as well as most of the people did. Ever since Ricky became a famous star, we witnessed tabloid reports; we found out there were rumors regarding his sexual orientation. We saw shots of paparazzi with him accompanied by lots of mystery men. It was like the fuel feeding the gay fire.
Moreover, Ricky Martin is not the first handsome guy surprise us with the gay orientation. The list is to be completed by names like: Adam Lambert, Lance Bass, Clay Aiken, and Sean Hayes.
Adam Lambert was always one of the top topics when it came about his sexuality. He hadn’t confirmed it yet, not even while competing on American Idol. But that didn't help the media from stopping its speculations regarding Adam's sexual orientation. It was far beyond that, media also wanted to see if the public and fans were ready to accept him being gay. We have heard about Lambert's coming out in Rolling Stone after he had lost to Kris Allen.
The former boy-band member, Lance Bass, started dating openly gay Reichen Lehmkuhl. It was that very moment when press and tabloids started gossip around with romance reports and photos of the two guys. Their vacation in New England, Provincetown, which is consider to be the gay mecca, kept the front page of tabloids and scandal magazines for days and days. There was a moment when Bass decided to talk openly about his private life in People magazine. It was such a huge news, that Lance Bass manage to bump Johnny Depp off that week's cover of the magazine.
Clay Aiken’s sexual visions shocked us all. Clay even had to handle threatens of being intended a lawsuit against him. Shock after shock, people had to find out after a month about his announcement: the birth of his son in August 2008.
The actor Sean Hayes never spoke publicly about his private life. On the other hand, everyone was wondering about him being playing so convincing the part of the gay Jack McFarland on Will and Grace. Sean decided to went on public and say he was gay earlier this month, when he was interviewed by The Advocate magazine.by FW Editor |
