Brad and Angelina Welcomed By Iraqi Refugees in Syria

Brad and Angelina Welcomed By Iraqi Refugees in Syria

Tuesday, October 6 2009

As a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN refugee agency, Angelina Jolie, together with her partner Brad Pitt, visited the Iraqi Refugees in Damascus, Syria.

The A-list couple met Hoda, who was kidnapped and assaulted with her son. They also visited Taha, a kidnap and torture victim. Brad and Angelina went to the one-bedroom apartment of Taha's family to share stories of hope.

After meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his wife Asma al-Assad, Jolie stated, "It is clear that the Syrian people, no matter the challenges or difficulties they may face, have always shown generous hospitality to people in need. I hope that the rest of the world recognizes that we all have to share this burden and continue to take care of Iraqi refugees."
