Andy Serkis is 'Caesar' in the Rise of the Apes

You know him better from the Lord of the Rings and King Kong. Andy Serkis, the actor wanted for almost any role involving animal manifestation in front of the cameras has been cast as Caesar in the Rise of the Apes.

Andy Serkis who will give birth to a rebellion against humanity in the prequel to Planet Of The Apes.

The action of the movie is happening in San Francisco nowadays, where genetic experiments made on various monkeys leads to an inevitably "awakening the consciousness" of the latter, and the war between man and his ancestor begins.

The main character will be Caesar, a male who begins to react positively to the new treatment, thus prompting the scientist to adopt.

The monkeys will not be played by people in suits, but will be partially run from computers with the same digital technology used by special effects company WETA, who made the special effects for Avatar.

Filming is scheduled for this month and will be released in theaters on June 24, 2011.
