American Idol Eliminates Two Finalists

Thursday, April 23 2009

by Joe Halls

The results show of American Idol was filled with grief as two contestants were sent home. They were Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai who got the lowest number of votes during the show's disco-themed week.

Rounds who performed I'm Every Woman on Tuesday received mostly bad reviews from the judges including Simon Cowell who predicted that it would be her last performance on the show. Desai, on the other hand, sang Dim All the Lights and got mixed reviews from the judges. Though some of the judges disagreed, Cowell said, "It was a horrible version of that song…That was your worst performance by a mile."

Joining the two in the bottom three was Allison Iraheta who is the last female contestant of Idol together with Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey and Kris Allen.

The double elimination followed last week’s show where no one was booted because the lowest vote-getter Matt Giraud was saved by the judges.
