Music award shows record higher ratings this year. For instance, the Grammy Awards, two months ago, attracted 19.7 million viewers, up by 2.5 million from last year. And now, according to CBS, the Academy of Country Music Awards soared higher in the key 18-49 demographic.
CBS reported that there’s an increase of 31% in the 18-49 demographic compared to last year’s show. It’s a great news for country artists on next week’s Nielsen SoundScan sales chart.
During the ACMs, the most notable awards were given to Taylor Swift for album of the year, and Carrie Underwood for entertainer of the year respectively. The show’s strong performances were those of Lee Ann Womack, Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, and Miranda Lambert who sang Dead Flowers off her new album which will be tentatively due in the last quarter of this year.
