The two young Gossip Girl starlets, Taylor Momsen and Leighton Meester are not only rivals on the show, they are rivals in music, too. Sources tell that Taylor is not very happy because Gossip Girl has been playing two of Leighton's song and they haven't asked Taylor to play one of her songs.
During two episodes of Gossip Girl, they used Leighton's songs "Good Girls Gome Bad" and “Somebody To Love” and they also have premiered her music video for “Somebody To Love” . Until now they haven't play any of Taylor's songs.
Taylor is the lead vocal for the grunge band "The Pretty Reckless" who signed to Interscope Records, but they haven't released any album. Leighton's debut album is going to come out January 2010, but both have released a single.
The Gossip Girl producers said that they support all the cast and they will promote all they're projects, but about Taylor they said “The show will support Taylor and her music when the time is right, but her music is not ready yet”. After that one of the screenplayers said “Leighton’s pop music fits the theme of Gossip Girl more than Taylor’s punk rock songs”.
Maybe they'll use Taylor's music but now is not the right time because Taylor's dark music doesn't fits with the theme of the show.by FW Editor |
