Werner von Blomberg (1878-1946) was a German soldier and Nazi politician, minister of defence (1933-1935) and minister of war and head of the Wehrmacht (army) (1935-1938) under Hitler's chancellorship.
Short Biography:
He was discredited by his marriage to a prostitute and dismissed in January 1938, enabling Hitler to exercise more direct control over the armed forces.
In spite of his removal from office, Blomberg was put on trial for war crimes in 1946 at Nuremberg.
