Robert Brown (1773-1858) was a Scottish botanist, a pioneer of plant classification and the first to describe and name the cell nucleus.
Short Biography:
On an expedition to Australia in 1801 he collected 4,000 species of plant and later classified them using the "natural" system of Bernard de Jussieu (1699-1777) rather than relying upon the system of Carolus Linnaeus.
