Norman Tebbit (born in 1931) first career was as an airline pilot, when he held various trade-union posts.
Short Biography:
He was minister for employment 1981-1983, minister for trade and industry 1983-1985, chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster 1985-1987, and chairman of the party 1985-1987. He was injured in a bornb blast during the 1985 Conservative Party conference in Brighton.
