Stage name of Edris Stannus (1898-2001) was a Irish dancer, choreographer, and teacher.

Short Biography:

A pioneer of British national ballet, she worked with Diaghilev in Paris before opening a dance academy in London in 1926. Collaborating with Lilian Baylis at the Old Vic theatre, she founded the Vic-Wells Ballet in 1931, which later became the Royal Ballet and Royal Ballet SchooL Among her works are Job in 1931 and Checkmate in 1937.
