Matthew Bourton (1728-1809) was a British factory-owner, who helped to finance James Watt's development of the steam engine.

Short Biography:

Boulton had an engineering works at Soho near Birmingham, and in 1775 he went into partnership with Watt to develop engines to power factory machines that had previously been driven by water.
