Lisa Edelstein is an award-winning American actress and playwright. She was born on May 21, 1966 in Boston, Massachusetts to Jewish parents, Alvin and Bonnie Edelstein. She attended New York University's Tisch School of the Fine Arts to study theatre. Lisa is a vegetarian and an avid practitioner of Mysore style Ashtanga Yoga. She is also a volunteer for the Best Friends Animal Society.
