Leonard Bernstein (1918-1990) was an American composer, conductor, and pianist.

Short Biography:

He has conducted major orchestras throughout the world. His works, which established a vogue for realistic, contemporary themes, include symphonies such as The Age of Anxiety in 1949; ballets such as Fancy Free in 1944; scores for musicals including Wonderful Town in 1953 and West Side Story in 1957; and Mass in 1971 in memory of President J. F. Kennedy.
