Leon Blum (1872-1950) was a French politician.

Short Biography:

He was converted to socialism by the Dreyfus affair in 1899, and in 1936 became the first socialist prime minister of France.

He was again premier for a few weeks in 1938. Imprisoned under the Vichy government in 1942 as a danger to French security, he was released by the Allies 1945.

He again became premier for a few weeks in 1946.
