Keith Jarrett (born in 1945) was an American jazz pianist and composer, an eccentric innovator who performs both alone and with small groups. The Koln Concert in 1975 is a characteristic solo live recording.

Jarrett was a member of the rock-influenced Charles Lloyd Quartet (1966-1967), and played with Miles Davis (1970-1971).
