John Napier Turner (born in 1929) was elected to the House of Commons in 1962 and served in the cabinet of Pierre Trudeau, until resigning in 1975.

Short Biography:

He succeeded Trudeau as party leader and prime minister in 1984, but tost the in 1984 and 1988 elections. Turner resigned as leader in 1989, and returned to his law practice. He was replaced as Liberal Party chief by Herbert Gray in February 1990.
