Real name James "Jim" Marshal (1942-1970) was a American rock guitarist, songwriter, and singer, legendary for his virtuoso experimental technique and flamboyance.
Short Biography:
He moved to the UK 1966 and formed a trio, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, which was successful from its first singles ('Hey Joe' and 'Purple Haze', both in 1967), and attracted notice in the USA when Hendrix burned his guitar at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival.
