Jeffrey Tate (born in 1943) was appointed principal conductor of the English Chamber Orchestra in 1985 and principal conductor of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, in 1986.

Short Biography:

He has conducted opera in Paris, in Geneva, and at the Metropolitan Opera, New York. He qualified as a doctor before turning to a career in music.
