James Fox, (born in 1939) is a British film actor, usually cast in upper-class, refined roles, but renowned for his portrayal of a psychotic gangster in Nicolas Roeg's Performance in 1970, which was followed by a ten-year break from acting.
In the 1960s Fox appeared in films like The Servant in 1963 and Isadora in 1968. He returned to the screen in, for example, A Passage to India in 1984 and Absolute Beginners in 1985.
