Isaac Rosenberg (1890-1918) was trained as an artist at the Slade school in London, Rosenberg enlisted in the army in 1915.

Short Biography:

He wrote about the horror of life on the front line, as in "Break of Day in the Trenches".

Like his contemporary Wilfred Owen, Rosenberg is now ranked with the finest World War I poets, although he was largely unpublished during his lifetime. After serving for 20 months in the front line, he was killed on the Somme.
