Henry Fonda (1905-1982) was an American actor whose engaging acting style made him ideal in the role of the American pioneer and honourable man.

His many films include The Grapes of Wrath in 1940, My Darling Clementine in 1946, and On Golden Pond in 1981. He was the father of the actress Jane Fonda and the actor and director Peter Fonda.
