George Vulturescu (pseudonym of Gheorghe S. Pop) - poet. Also essayist and publisher. Born on March 1st 1951 in Tireac (Satu Mare). he is the son of Gheorghe Pop and Irina Pop, peasants.

After graduating from the secondary school in Satu Mare, he graduated in 1974 from the Faculty of Letters at the “Babes-Bolyai” University of Cluj Napoca.
