Richard Edward Geoffrey Howe, Baron Howe of Aberavon (born in 1926) is a British Conservative politician.

Short Biography:

Under Heath he was solicitor-general (1970-1972) and minister for trade (1972-1974); as chancellor of the Exchequer (1979-1983) under Thatcher, he put into practice the monetarist policy which reduced inflation at the cost of a rise in unemployment.
