Gaius Marius (155-86 BC) was Roman military commander and politician.
Short Biography:
Born near Arpinum, he was elected consul seven times, the first time in 107 BC. He defeated the Cimbri and the Teutons (Germanic tribes attacking Gaul and Italy) 102-101 BC.
