Frederick John Dealtry Lugard, 1st Baron Lugard (1858-1945) was a British colonial administrator.

Short Biography:

He served in the army (1878-1889) and then worked for the British East Africa Company, for whom he took possession of Uganda in 1890.

He went on to be high commissioner for North Nigeria (1900-1907), governor of Hong Kong (1907-1912), and governor general of Nigeria (1914-1919).
