Frank Raymond Leavis (1895-1978) was an English literary critic, and co-founder (with his wife Q. D. Leavis) and editor of the controversial review Scrutiny (1932-1953).

Short Biography:

He championed the work of D. H. Lawrence and James Joyce, and in 1962 attacked C. P. Snow's theory of "Two Cultures". His other works include New Bearings in English Poetry in 1932 and The Great Tradition in 1948. He was a lecturer at Cambridge University.
