Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815-1902) and Anthony wrote and compiled the History of Women's Suffrage 1881-1886. Stanton also worked for the abolition of slavery.

She organised the International Council of Women in Washington DC. She was the first president of the National Woman Suffrage Association.
