Edvard Munch (1863-1944) was a Norwegian painter.

Short Biography:

He studied in Paris and Berlin, and his best works date from 1892 to 1908, when he lived mainly in Germany.

His paintings often focus on neurotic emotional states. The Frieze of Life 1890s, a sequence of highly charged, symbolic paintings, includes some of his favourite images, for example Skriket/The Scream in 1893. He reused these in etchings, lithographs, and woodcuts.
