Clemens Brentano (1778-1842) was a German writer, leader of die Young Romantics.

Short Biography:

He published a seminal collection of folktales and songs with Ludwig von Arnim (Des Knaben Wunderhom) 1805-1808, and popularized the legend of the Lorelei (a rock in the river Rhine).

He also wrote mystic religious verse Romanzen vom Rosenkranz 1852.
