Clare Boothe Luce (1903-1987) was a American journalist, playwright, and politician.

Short Biography:

She was managing editor of the magazine Vanity Fair 1933-1934, and wrote several successful plays, including The Women in 1936 and Margin for Error in 1939.

She was born in New York, was a Republican member of Congress 1943-1947 and ambassador to Italy 1953-1957.

She was married to the magazine publisher Henry Robinson Luce.
