Amisha Patel was born on June 9, 1976, in Mumbai, India. Her grandfather, Rajni Patel, was a freedom fighter. She completed her high school in Mumbai and graduated in economics in Massachusetts in 1997.

After returning back to India, Amisha developed an active interest in acting. She joined a theater group to portray her creativity. She got her big break in 2000 when she was approached by Rakesh Roshan for acting in the lead role for the movie "Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai" opposite Hrithik Roshan. read more...
