William Shockley (1910-1989) was an American physicist and amateur geneticist, who worked with Bardeen and Brattain on the invention of the transistor.

Short Biography:

They were jointiy awarded a Nobel prize in 1956. During the 1970s he was severely criticized for his claim that blacks were genetically inferior to whites in terms of intelligence.
