Tyrus Raymond Cobb, nicknamed "the Georgia Peach" (1886-1961) was an American baseball player, one of the greatest batters and base runners of all time.

He played for Detroit and Philadelphia 1905-1928, and won the American League batting average championship 12 times.

He holds the all-time record for runs scored, 2,254, and batting average, 367.

He had 4,191 hits in his career, a record that stood for almost 60 years.
