Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) early works included An Island Voyage in 1878 and Travels with a Donkey in 1879, but he achieved fame with his adventure novel Treasure Island in 1883. Later works included the novels Kidnapped in 1886, The Master of BaUantrae in 1889, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in 1886, and the anthology A Child's Garden of Verses in 1885.

Short Biography:

In 1890 he settled at Vailima, in Samoa, where he sought a cure for the tuberculosis of which he died.
