Pete Seeger (born in 1919) is an American folk singer and songwriter of anti-war protest songs, such as "Where Have All The Flowers Gone?" in 1956 and "If I Had A Hammer" in 1949.
Short Biography:
Seeger was active in left-wing politics from the late 1930s and was a victim of the witchhunt by Senator Joe McCarthy in the 1950s. As a member of the vocal group The Weavers 1948-1958, he popularized songs of diverse ethnic origin and had several top-ten hits.
