Oscar Wilde was born on 16 October 1854 in Dublin, Ireland and died on 30 November 1900, at the age of 46, in Paris, France. He was an Irish playwright, short story writer, poet and journalist.

Oscar Wilde lived between 1854 and 1900. Coming from a family of intellectuals from Dublin, he started from an early age to show his talent in writing and his intelligence. He was fluent in German and French and an outstanding classicist at Dublin and Oxford.
