Francisco Paulino Hermenegildo Teodulo Franco y Bahamonde Salgado Pardo, (1892-1975) was a Spanish dictator from 1939.

Short Biography:

As a general, he led the insurgent Nationalists to victory in the Spanish Civil War 1936-1939, supported by Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany, and established a dictatorship.

In 1942 Franco reinstated the Cortes (Spanish parliament), which in 1947 passed an act by which he became head of state for life.
