Eric grew up in a theatre family, with a filmmaker father and an improv-comedy mother. He spent his developing years at Chicago"s Second City, watching his mother teach improvisation to such greats as Harold Ramis, Peter Boyle, David Mamet, Betty Thomas and Robert Townsend.
