Dean Rusk (1909-1994) was secretary of state to presidents Kennedy and Johnson 1961-1969, and became unpopular through his involvement with the Vietnam War.

Short Biography:

During World War II he fought in Burma and China, and became deputy Chief of Staff of US forces. After the war he served in the Department of State, and as assistant secretary of state for Far Eastern affairs was prominent in Korean War negotiations.
