Daniel Barenboim is a Israeli pianist and conductor, born in Argentina.

Short Biography:

Pianist/conductor with the English Chamber Orchestra from 1964, he became conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra in 1970 and musical director of the Orchestre de Paris in 1975.

Appointed artistic director of the Opera Bastille, Paris, in July 1987, he was fired from his post a few months before its opening in July 1989.

He is a celebrated interpreter of Mozart and Beethoven.
