As reported by an Italian television station Luciano Pavarotti, the Opera star was seriously ill at his home last night after his kidneys failed in Italy.

He was praised vociferously with the label as the greatest tenor of his generation. He had undergone for the pancreatic cancer surgery last year. With this he was surrounded by members of his family and close friends as mentioned by a local television Antenna Uno which was in his home town of Modena.
