Peter Martins (born in 1946) is a Danish-born American dancer, choreographer, and director, principal dancer with the New York City Ballet from 1965 and its joint director from 1983.
Short Biography:
Martins trained at the Royal Danish Ballet School, joining the company 1965, and the same year joined the New York City Ballet as a principal.
He created roles in, among others, Robbins's Goldberg Variations in 1971 and Balanchine's Violin Concerto and Duo Concertant both 1972, and choreog
