Henry Wickham, (1846-1928) was a British planter who founded the rubber plantations of Sri Lanka and Malaysia, and broke the monopoly in rubber production then held by Brazil.
He collected rubber seeds from Brazil, where they grew naturally, cultivated them at Kew Gardens, and re-exported them to the Far East.
